Use your sewing and quilting skills to assist Quilt Expo attendees in stitching a community quilt for donation.

Fill in where needed in the event that another volunteer needs to cancel. Lots of fun if you enjoy versatility!
Greeter*
Direct attendees to entry gates, ticket booths, classrooms and the quilt exhibit. Hand out programs and answer basic questions about the show. Greeters at certain stations will be able to sit.
Handstamper*
Thank guests for coming, answer visitors’ questions and stamp hands for those who plan to reenter the show.
Lecture Assistant
Direct attendees to the correct lecture rooms, collect tickets, lower/raise lights, distribute evaluation forms and assist where needed.
Main Stage Presentation Assistant
Help set up presentations, distribute handouts, take attendance and assist with clean up as needed.
Package Check
Check and retrieve attendee packages.
Photography Assistant
Help move and hang quilts during the photography session on Wednesday, September 5. Some heavy lifting is required.
Quilt Appraisal Assistant
Manage traffic at the quilt appraisal room and assist the appraiser in handling quilts.
Quilt Exhibit Attendant
Ensure quilt safety and interact with attendees in the quilt exhibit areas. Great job for anyone who appreciates talking about quilts! We’ll provide information sheets and white gloves to use in handling quilts.
Quilt Exhibit Greeter*
Greet quilt exhibit attendees and hand out Viewers’ Choice ballots.
Raffle Sales and Information Desk*
Give directions and answer questions about Quilt Expo using information sheets we provide. Sell raffle tickets.
Special Event Host*
Greet visitors, collect tickets and serve as an usher at one or both of our special evening events on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7.
Ticket Seller*
Sell tickets in the front or back lobby of the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center. You must be able to accurately add and quickly make change.
Volunteer Check-In*
Greet volunteers, hand them their name badges and direct them to training and orientation in the volunteer lounge.
Wheelchair Rental Check-In
Work with UW Health to check-in rented wheelchairs and process paperwork.
Will-Call Desk
Distribute tickets to attendees that were purchased in advance of the show.
Workshop Assistant
Collect tickets, distribute evaluation forms and assist instructors as needed during a workshop.

Help us keep an eye on quilts while exhibit setup and take down are in progress.
Quilt Exhibit Take-Down
Assist in taking down quilts with care after the show on Saturday, September 8. This is a very physical job as we’ll be handling more than 600 quilts.
Quilt Finishing Team
Straighten quilts after they have been hung, hang quilt ID, and assist where needed.
Quilt Hanging Crew
Assist in hanging quilts with care before the show.
Quilt Unbundling Team
Unbundle and deliver quilts to hanging locations and assist where needed.
Rope and Pipe Team
Hang row identification signs, wipe down pipe, deliver pipe and S-hooks to quilt hanging location and assist where needed.
Vendor Check-In*
Greet and check in vendors, and direct them to their booth location during setup on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
